Katie Couric (Ghost Written) Notebook
Katie takes a moment out of her day to weep for New Orleans. The police can't get a handle on crime, the schools can't educate the kids, the city can't draw outside investment and even Habitat for Humanity didn't follow through on their promise to build "thousands" of homes.
I guess Peanuts was too busy reading his dog-eared copy of Protocols of the Elders of Zion to pick up a hammer.
As for the rest of it... The crime, the lousy schools, etc... What else is new? As I said a long time ago, when you take a shitty city and dump nine feet of water on top of it you're not going to make things better. The place was a hellhole before the first drop of rain fell. Then it was a wet hellhole. Now it's a moldy hellhole.
